So, for Christmas Eve, we usually go to church. Then, my parents join us at our house where we have sandwich and snack stuff. We open our presents.
The next morning, we wake up (well, the kids wake us up) to their stockings, which are from Santa.
After that, we go to my parents' home for a nice meal and have Christmas there.
This year, my hubby is working on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. He will return on the 25th, but we won't know what time he will be home until he's home. It could be as early as around noon, or as late as midnight.
We are trying to figure out the best and easiest way to handle our normal celebrations.
My hubby wants to see the kids with their stockings from Santa first thing in the morning. I suggested that I "write" to Santa to explain that gifts should be dropped off a day later. Hubby says that the kids won't really know what day it is, so we can just off-set by one day....letting them think that the 26th is really the 25th.
What would you do?
What we don't want is for Santa to come, leave the stockings and the kids have to wait hours before they can open them.
