MY DAY

So, my sweet honey bun is coming home today. He is in the northeast...by the time he finishes his work and airlines back, it will be about 7-ish. I have a lot to do.

I won't lie. I'm not the best at housework by any means. (Though it pains me to admit it.) I try....and I go through spurts of productivity and INactivity. =) But no matter what I need to do, or have done, I DO try to make it to where the house is not a total disaster area when he comes home.

There is no pressure from him. He is so good. Even though there are certainly times when he has wanted or expected a certain task to be done, he never complains if it is not. It's just really good when my productive spurt lands right before he does.

Well, I'm feeling a bit productive (I just hope he doesn't read this before he returns.....just in case LOL)

My living room is picked up, but needs to be vacuumed. My kitchen is relatively clean, but floor needs to be mopped. (I have a serious clutter problem in there.) The boys' bathroom is decent, as I just wiped down the counters last night. My couponing for the week is mostly done...except for my CVS and WG run. Nope....the one thing that NEEDS to be done...and that would thrill my hubby down to his hairy toes...is....can you guess? That's right...LAUNDRY. The evil villain that resides in my house. SO....I have about 9 hours before he comes home....I figure, if I try really hard, that I can get, say....about 2 hours productive folding. I won't work to justify how I came to that time. Suffice it to say, if you have children, you understand.

I am thinking about keeping a "to-do" list in my side-bar. Maybe if I post it I will feel a bit more accountable. I might put it up for a week at a time so I don't feel quite so lazy. I would love if you would share your schedules. Maybe it would help me by giving me ideas.

Have a blessed day!

We've never lived in a house that we were showing before. I have to keep it clean all day, every day. Ugh!! I"m washing the sheets on our bed right now hoping we don't get a call to show it. Well, I do want to show it as often as possible. Anyway, this has been a new experience. I have to say, it's nice having my house clean every day. But, will I keep it up after the move to a new place???? That is the question.

I have my own Mt. WashMore to conquer here too!! Oh the never ending pile. We have tried the 2 loads a day thing. We just produce more than that, I mean there are 6 of us and towels, sheets, etc., There are time I must confess, I have just taken it all to the laundromat just to get caught up. I am down to just 4 loads to get caught up today. I think I can do it! I think I can, I think I can.....

I agree....2 loads a day just isn't enough. I go through phases of being caught up. When I AM caught up, I have a pretty decent schedule that helps me throughout the week. Maybe I should post that someday? Anyway, I have to do at least 3 loads a day EVERYday keep from falling behind. The problem is when DH comes home...he adds a week of his own laundry in one turn. :D

Oooh, we love the Oasis too. Did you know it burned down? I think they rebuilt though.

The dreading "L" word LAUNDRY, I don't think I can ever see the bottom of the laundry basket. Just when I think Ok I am finished I wake up the next morning and find MORE LAUNDRY UGGGHHHH!!! I think it breeds overnight.

As far as a schedule since starting back to work full time I find that the only time I can pick up is at night or the weekends so I don't really have a schedule just when I get to it I get to it. LOL :) HOpe you and your hubby have a wonderful evening when he gets back home.

Put those boys of yours to work! ;) One of the best days as a mom is the day you teach the child how to do the laundry! It's so nice when you don't have to do it all....

I do atleast 4 loads of laundry a day. I fold them as soon as they come out of the dryer. I read a tip from another blog that has helped me. She doesn't allow herself to watch TV unless she has something for her hands to do while she is there. So, I fold laundry and such while I get a few minutes of TV in. It has helped me and I don't feel guilty for watching the TV either.

One thing at a time. Get one thing done... and listen to some tunes! Boogie a little, sing a little, get it done. THEN see what's next. OH and get the quickest things done first ;) unless you are all wearing your cleanest dirty clothes LMAO

I don't mind washing, it's the folding I can't stand. Just like salad, I don't like making a green salad. I know, wierd!!

I agree, boys can fold!! After drying I used to separate into piles for family members and they folded their own. Plus I separate the towels/sheets fairly and each get a pile.

My oldest complained at 16 (he's now married and almost 24) about not having anything to wear, so all the kids after that when they turned 16 it was time to do their own laundry!! Work towards that and you will make a future daughter in law very happy!!!

PS You would like Robert Whitlow's books. I looked at your list and I see you might enjoy his books!! Very good!

Dear ~LL~,

I am Auntie Em's sister. I saw your comment on your page and had to stop by, so... Hello!

I just read your Superman post, and was just tickled - I HAVE THAT TOO!
What a small world?!
I didn't know the formal name for it, and since I am now almost thirty, things were not as advanced when I was born, and so never have had it operated on.
Since I am a girl, it's been pretty easy to hide with hair. I will own that since about the time I got married (ten years ago) my identity has become less wrapped up in how others perceive my looks. I don't try to hide my ear at this point.
It has become clear in my lifetime that those who are my friends and truly love me NEVER EVEN NOTICE - let alone care.

I suspect that it was a good thing to have been home-schooled, and I give my parents a lot of credit too, for treating my just like the other children in my family.

Well, anyway... didn't intend to blabber on and on, but I am blessed by the little bit I've peeked into here!
May the Lord richly bless you, and give you wisdom in the raising of your boys!

Love,
Analene
